The contribution of the Nikita Botanical gardens in the development of horticulture in the South of Russia
Abstract
The article presents the results of years of work of breeders of the NBS for the introduction and formation of gene fond and breeding of the southern fruit crops. The history of the gene fond, its structural composition and the results of breeding work on breeding of new cultivars, as well as achievements on the development of intensive agricultural technologies are shown. The tasks for raising of horticulture in accordance with the "Program of agricultural development of Crimea until 2025", developed by specialists of the NBS are seted.
